The glassmaking village of Schmidsfelden near Leutkirch in the Allgäu region is a lovingly restored ensemble of historic glassmakers' houses and a magnificent glassworks, which now serves as a museum and manufactory. Visitors experience the art of glassmaking up close – from furnace demonstrations to blowing their own glass in the studio. The village, which boasts a glassmaking tradition dating back to 1678, offers a unique destination for young and old, with colorful glass objects in the gardens, a charming café, and a museum steeped in glass history.
