The town of La Roca de Pelencà (or Palencà), or simply "the Rock", is the town located about 2 km south of Vilallonga and at an altitude of 1040 m. The village is stepped on a characteristic cliff - "la Roca" - which presides over the water mixture of the Riera d'Abella with the River Ter. Almost nothing remains of the castle, just a regular carriage wall. The orographic situation made the place easily defensible. The small Romanesque church remains and a portal that years ago constituted the access to the town, as it must have been from the castle, has disappeared, in part, up the shortcut path.
