Here you can spend the night in the former machine towers or old railway carriages. Very idyllic and quiet. So ideal for stage runs. But because of the proximity to water, there are also lots of insects. First and foremost, there are mosquitoes. They make sitting outside in the evenings a nuisance.

This transformer station, painted with motifs and the coat of arms of Kienitz, is located on the village square on Friedhofsstrasse. This is interesting because I initially couldn't assign one of the motifs to the "Kienitzer Strickbauern". It was only later at the harbor that I realized the connection with the “Golden Deer”. The history of the mill location in Kienitz an der Oder goes back well into the 19th century. For several generations, the Schröder family operated a steam cutting mill to process the wood that was floated and delivered. This came on ships on the Oder in order to be further processed here. This resulted in a sawmill and the necessary outbuildings. Only later was the building used as a mill. The Kienitz harbor mill was only built in the 20th century as a grain mill and was probably operated with electricity from the start. The imposing brick building now houses a café on the ground floor and holiday apartments (for 2-4 people) on the first floor of the building. The gallery hosts four to five exhibitions a year in various manuscripts and art genres.
