The figure depicting Storm's Regentrude was created by Christoph Haupt in 2007 on the occasion of the 200th birthday of the writer, who spent eight years as a district judge in Heiligenstadt between 1856 and 1864.

Somewhat hidden behind the bandstand is the 7-meter-high Geislede waterfall. An impressive photo opportunity that inspired Theodor Storm's story "The Rain Maiden."

The Geislede, the river that flows into the Leine at the edge of the park, plunges about seven meters down the sandstone in the spa park. Theodor Storm was inspired by this natural waterfall for the famous story "The Regentrude".
