You experience a magnificent landscape

Beautiful cycle path (on the top of the dyke or on a path behind it that is a little more sheltered from the wind). From the dyke you have a wonderful view over the Elbe valley - meadows as far as the eye can see and the Elbe glittering in between.

Experience nature at its purest, a truly great experience, a dreamlike river landscape! The Elbe Valley Biosphere Reserve is a cycling region with a particularly well-developed cycle path infrastructure. The Elbe Cycle Path has been Germany's most popular long-distance cycle path for years. The cycle junction signposting opens up around 1000 km of cycle paths in the biosphere reserve and neighboring regions.

Simply stunningly beautiful nature!

Here the dyke was set back quite a bit, on a large section, between Lenzen and Lütkenwisch. This means that the Elbe has more space to flow in the event of flooding. When there is no flooding, there is a beautiful floodplain landscape here, a paradise for birds and wild animals. At the eastern end of the area is the "Auenblick" shelter, a lovely place to take a rest, with a magnificent view. A unique experience, especially during a beautiful sunset or sunrise. At night, you can wonderfully observe the starry sky and take photos, as there is relatively little light pollution in this area.

The Elbe meadow between Beuster and Wahrenberg near Wittenberge covers a floodplain section which, in comparison to most other areas of the lower Elbe in Saxony-Anhalt, is equipped with larger floodplain forests in addition to grassland. In general, it represents the entire spectrum of habitat types typical for floodplains.

The path appears to be quite newly established. Anyway, it's great to drive 👍

Here the "bottleneck" of the Elbe was deprived of its power at high tide. Due to the back dike and the design of the areas, the Elbe has floodplains here again.
