The "Simmersee" is located in the tributary of the Simmerbach north of the town of Simmern/Hunsrück. It consists of two bodies of water that differ in terms of shape and use. The upper water surface (depth: approx. 1.5 m) has a purely biotope character and the lower water surface (depth: approx. 4 m, length: approx. 60 x 150 m) is used for leisure and local recreation.
