The path along the Hunte is very beautiful. New perspectives of the river constantly open up.

As tempting as the small beach looks, it is absolutely forbidden to enter the river bank and the sandbank. And rightly so: nature has priority here! The entire course of the river, including the river banks, from Wildeshausen to Oldenburg is a designated nature reserve. Unfortunately, there is little to no local signage. So, so that we don't destroy endangered animals and plants, please stay on the paths and leave the river bank and sandbanks alone.

Magically located, you can almost forget the world that is raging a few hundred meters 😊🐕👍

The flood at the turn of the year 2023/24 washed away a lot of sand on the banks of the Hunte. The river is wider than usual and still carries a lot of water. The dikes have been reopened and are easily accessible.

The Alhorn fish ponds are wonderful for hiking...super nice there.

From here you have a fantastically beautiful view of the polder. It's even nicer in the morning when the sun doesn't hit your face.

Right now, all green on green. Has something of the jungle character.

There are many paths to explore along the fish ponds. There are also some rest stops and small beaches. The area and the forest are very nice and quiet.
