Approximately 1 km after the roundabout at Hurtöst in the direction of Waging, an inconspicuous forest path branches off from the road to the left. This path is marked with a "pay attention to the right of way" sign, atypical for a forest path. Then it goes about 1 km into the forest until you see a sign to the right "Bitterstein". Either on foot or by mountain bike, another 500 m until you discover the Bitterstein behind young trees.

A large limestone in the shady forest - the boulder exudes calm and is a cool place to take a break. The rock used to be three times as big, but was used as a quarry. Then the stone was declared a natural monument and protected.
