With a surface area of 89.2 hectares, the Eternal Sea is Germany's largest raised bog lake. The boardwalk around the nature reserve is currently closed. Only the path to the sea is open and can be reached from the parking lot in just a few minutes. There is a small platform and a bench.

The Wadden Sea off the North Sea coast of Lower Saxony has been protected as a national park since 1986. With an area of around 3,450 km², it is the second largest German national park. It is also a UNESCO biosphere reserve and part of the UNESCO Wadden Sea World Heritage Site.

A great area. On our last visit, however, the circular route was closed. The view of the Eternal Sea was still great.

Good source of information 👍: https://ostfriesland-discoveren.de/land/rundtour-ewiges-meer/ So far (spring 2023) after more than 4 years, nothing has happened with the renovation of the Bohlen circular path - it's a shame, it was a really great round! ..but is not the only project in beautiful East Friesland that is taking a very long time. Open end. Until further notice, only the recommended section "to the water" remains
