The Grötzinger Bruchwald, which was declared a nature reserve in 1984, is, together with the neighbouring Bruchwald in the Weingarten area, one of the largest intact alder quarry forest areas in the old Federal Republic.

Wonderful view from the top of the mountain which was settled over 6000 years ago... the chapel is freely accessible... there is an inn next door

Beautiful and interesting nature reserve. The Weingartener Moor nature reserve and wet biotope is one of the last semi-natural remaining areas of the Kinzig-Murg channel, a former river valley on the eastern edge of the Upper Rhine Graben. It is a fen with open water areas, surrounded by extensive swampy forest. Therefore, one finds an occurrence of a species-rich animal world here. The bird life of the protected area is particularly diverse. The bog is also an important spawning ground for 14 native amphibian species.

the moor is great. You get the most out of it when there are no leaves on the trees and there has been enough rainfall. In the summer there is sometimes no sign of the moor.
