The Capanna Brogoldone is an alpine pasture with two main huts. One hut can accommodate up to 59 people. The other hut houses a small restaurant. Amazing views from up there!

The Capanna Brogoldone was once a mountain pasture and is today the result of a desire to preserve the remains of a bygone era. From 1995 to 1998, a group of volunteers set to work renovating the two existing buildings while maintaining the typical structure of the pasture: the former stable became a dormitory, and the building that once served as a cheese dairy and shelter for the mountain herders was converted into a kitchen and dining room. The village of Lavertezzo in the Verzasca Valley was first mentioned in 1327 under the name Laverteze. In 1913, a bronze axe was found in the municipality. In the Middle Ages, Lavertezzo, like Squadra, probably belonged to the large vicinia Verzasca. The population moved between Lavertezzo and the Terricciuole area, which was under the joint jurisdiction of Locarno, Minusio and Mergoscia. In 1920, part of the Terricciuole was incorporated into Lavertezzo, today's Riazzino.

It is not advisable to drive into the village as there are no parking spaces. You can stop off at the Osteria next to the church. The village can only be visited on foot and it is beautiful to walk through the narrow streets.

On a panoramic terrace overlooking the Lumino valley, stands the Brogldone hut. Excellent for a break to fill up on energy!

beautiful village, together with the Verzasca Dam the second tourist must see in Val Verzasca is this village and the near by roman style bridge. It is hard to admit but it is awsome! Take a bath in the ice colde water, enjoy the beautiful Rustici and rocks and of course the unique bridge. Ignore the fact that you are surrounded by many many more like you. Tip: buy the parking license at the Kiosk at the dam.
