Here lies the so-called "horse pond." Legend has it that a horse once drowned at this spot in the Trieb stream. A wild, black stallion broke free from a nearby pasture and galloped over the rocks. In doing so, it broke its front legs, slipped into the Trieb, and drowned miserably.

What an achievement our ancestors achieved—respect! But the men who are now erecting the scaffolding and completing the necessary repairs to the bridge are also true heroes. Respect and my absolute admiration.

From the beginning of September (2024), trains will once again run on both tracks of the second largest brick bridge in the world. At the same time, experts will continue to repair the pillars and arches on the listed bridge until the end of 2025. To do this, they will replace more than 36,000 bricks with new custom-made ones based on historical models.
