<< Deutsches Eck >> "As a true Westerwalder, you know that the Deutsches Eck is not only found in Koblenz, but is also located in the Kroppacher Schweiz. The Deutsches Eck of the Westerwald is located exactly at the confluence of the Große Nister and the Kleine Nister near Heimborn, a small town in the Hachenburg collective municipality in the Kroppacher Schweiz. This hiking highlight presents itself to hikers in an idyllic way, embedded in a meadow between the two rivers. A hiking hut, a playground and several benches invite you to rest. The circular route of around 3 kilometers in length, which begins at the Wilhelmsteg in Heuzert, is mostly flat, easy to walk and leads over three bridges (footbridges). A geological peculiarity from the old volcanic times can be seen here: the basalt steles that can be seen at this point have been given the name "The Pillars of the Earth". I don't know whether Ken Follet also knows this place :-)
