The Sehlendorfer Binnensee nature reserve is located in the municipality of Blekendorf Sehlendorf. The Sehlendorfer Binnensee is one of the few beach lakes on the Baltic coast that still has an open connection to the Baltic Sea, the Broeck. This increases the salt content in the lake when Baltic Sea water flows in and decreases when the water level is lower.
