The Princes' Island offers many beautiful vantage points on the large Plöner See on easy-to-navigate paths.

The Great Plön Lake is not only the largest lake in Schleswig-Holstein, but also the deepest at 56 meters. The Schwentine River flows through the lake. The island of Olsburg lies in the lake. It is said to be the historical origin of Plön. The fortified castle and settlement complex was built around the 8th century and was probably still accessible by land at that time because the water level was still low. In addition to the excursion boats, you can of course also simply gaze out over the large lake from the shore or choose the Parnaß Tower in Plön. With the cries of seagulls and the wind, you get a real coastal feeling here.

The Princes' Island was purchased by Emperor Wilhelm II in 1910 and is still owned by the House of Hohenzollern today. Forest, swampy terrain, a sandy beach and four large paddocks characterize the landscape. The sons of the last emperor once learned about farming here.
