From the Frauenberg castle ruins you have a wonderful view in all directions at any time of year. But be careful: sometimes a very cold wind blows up there! So dress warmly!

Great opportunities to cool off. Best reached on foot or by bike, as fortunately there is almost no parking for cars. However, it can be quite crowded in summer.

French meadows provide a habitat for many animal species and are under nature protection. In summer the purest frog concert. A very nice place but the only thing missing is a seat, which is a shame.

Absolutely recommended to stop by here, whether on a bike tour or as a hike. Beautiful hiking trails around the castle 👍👍👍

Amöneburg Castle was the Mainz administrative seat of the Oberamt Amöneburg. Large parts of the mountain massif were already in the 5th century BC. by ramparts and ditches. The castle moat, a drawbridge and several towers therefore also belonged to this area.
