The Old Port in Antalya lies below the walled Old Town (Kaleiçi) in a bay surrounded by cliffs. The history of the Old Port begins around 150 BC, when King Attalus II of Pergamon founded Antalya as a naval base. Around 67 BC, the Romans expanded the port. The famous general Gnaeus Pompeius Magnus hoped to use this base to fight pirates. After a restoration in the 1980s, it now serves as a marina for yachts and a departure point for excursion boats. The port's age is underscored by historic boats and old fishing boats that are permanently moored here. The marina has moorings for numerous vessels. Numerous restaurants and cafés around the port invite you to linger and enjoy views of the ships in the harbor.

Stunning! If you’re looking to dip in the canyon, I’d advise finding spot along the route to dip and have the tranquility all to yourself, rather than dip in the main pools/areas that everyone uses.

This castle, located in the center of Ortahisar, is one of the earliest multi-story settlements in the world. It provided shelter and asylum to historic Silk Road caravans during the Hittite period. This large, fairy-chimney-shaped castle was first carved by the Hittites, and in later periods, it was enlarged and new floors were excavated to higher levels, necessitating expansion. It has been used by the Romans, Byzantines, Seleucids, and Ottomans to this day. When Ishak Pasha, one of the commanders of Fatih Sultan Mehmet's army, marched into Cilicia with his army in 1470, he captured the castles of Bashisar, Ortahisar, Uchisar, and Nigde, effectively ending the Karamanid Principality and placing it under Ottoman rule.

What a goosebumps moment you can sit and enjoy for hours

I didn't particularly enjoy the hike to the canyon entrance. Jeeps are constantly driving by, kicking up dust. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I can't say whether the guided tour in the canyon itself is worth it. However, you can swim at the café 100 meters from the entrance, and the Gözleme tastes good too.

The most splendid and famous structures of Myra is rock-cut tombs. In the 5th and 4th century BC, Myra was one of the most important representatives of the Classical Period with the rock-cut façades of the tombs that imitated wooden architecture. There are two main necropolis in the east and south of the acropolis. The city of the dead, created by the imitating the architecture of life beside each tomb, also create an interrupted panoramic city view by composing a civil settlements imitation. As well as a road network connecting the cities neighbourhood and the acropolis and necropolis areas, there are also passageways and rock-cut stairs that provide access to the grave groups within each necropolis. The differences in the type and characteristics of the tombs provide important information about burial customs and social status of the tomb owners. Rock-cut tombs are dated to 4th century BC. 23 of the tombs are inscribed, 13 of them are Lycins, and 10 are ancient Greek.
