The Plettsauberg reservoir is idyllically situated above Zell am See and blends harmoniously into the mountain landscape. The shimmering pool serves as a reservoir for snowmaking in winter and is also a beautiful vantage point. From here, you can enjoy magnificent views over Lake Zell and the surrounding peaks – a worthwhile place to linger.

Lake Zell is not only a nature reserve, but also a European protected area. Rare bird species, reed beds, and species-rich shorelines make the landscape a valuable habitat. On your walks around the lake, you can experience this unique natural scenery and discover an important contribution to the preservation of sensitive ecosystems.

Here you can enjoy with all your senses what characterizes nature reserves. It's buzzing everywhere, the fish are sprinting through the water and there's a pleasant microclimate.

A beautiful natural monument. The Birnbach rises here at a height of 1291m. A lake in the Birnhorn massif is suspected. When the weather is nice, you are not alone here.

The arduous way up to the Birnbachloch is worth it. A natural monument. The trail is open from June.
