This route is entirely in the province of Friesland. The route is located in the old, overgrown dune areas of Appelscha. This makes it possible to realize the most fantastic tracks, with a lot of height difference for the environment. The highest point in Friesland is located in this part of the Friese Wouden. It is a challenging route where a good warm-up is required. The route consists of technical single tracks with short vicious climbs. There are no paved or flat parts in the route. This route can be followed continuously with the 17.3 kilometer long, blue route of Appelscha. This creates a route with a total length of more than 21 kilometers.
