T-Centralen station is decorated with the blue and white murals on the lower level (the blue line). One of many stations where the naked rock the subway was built in was decorated by various artists to make it more pleasing to the eyes of the passengers. The sculpture was created by the American sculptor Marshall Fredericks (1908–1998) in 1995 based on plans by the Swedish sculptor Carl Milles. Carl Milles sketched the sculpture in 1946 on the occasion of the founding of the UN in New York during a stay at the New York hotel The Plaza on the hotel's stationery.
