On a clear day, the view from here extends not only to the Alps, but also to the Hotzenwald hills and the Swiss Jura mountains. On the other side, one can see down to Herrischried through the clearing of the Kehltannen lift.

The view towards Herrischried is unobstructed by the ski lifts.

Here, a small hut with a fountain and seating invites you to rest – perfect for a break with a view.

This is not the Schluchsee as mentioned above, but the Wehratalsperre or Wehra-stausee

At this pond, you can clearly see why the stream is named after it. There's a sign here with interesting information about the ecosystem.

The trail partially leads through a protected forest, and the paths are accordingly steep. This is a hiker's heart's desire. Nevertheless, caution, sturdy shoes, and surefootedness are essential. There are few to no rest stops.
