Here at the tip of Cap Ferret you have a great view of the dune, the sandbank in front and the entire ocean.

We have been to the area twice by road bike, once coming from the east and once from the north, and it is always worth it.

If you are in Bordeaux then you should make a detour to the Dune de Pilat. It is Europe's largest shifting dune - approx. 110 m high and 2.7 km long. The climb takes place via a staircase down through the sand to the sea or at the end to the campsite again via a staircase. The view from above is gigantic 🤩

The view of the sea is impressive. The view into the forests is terrifying. After the devastating forest fires in 2022, nothing of the forest and the campsites can be seen anymore. The forest is a charred memorial.

Really great view of the Atlantic and the small islands offshore. It's also worth taking a walk along the beach. To do this, simply "slide" down the dune. There are several places where you can get through to the sea 👍🏽🤩
