The Elz path begins in Wittenweier and runs for around 13 kilometers through a varied landscape of forests, meadows and fields along the Elz river. The path is well signposted and offers numerous opportunities to experience and enjoy nature. There are many interesting sights along the way, including the ruins of the Hochburg castle ruins, Burkheim Castle and the Tauber Gießen nature reserve. There are also some cozy inns along the way where you can take a break and enjoy regional specialties. The Elz path is suitable for hikers of all ages and fitness levels. Since the path is mostly flat and well developed, it is also suitable for families with children or the elderly. In summary, the Elzpfad is a magnificent hiking trail that impressively showcases the beauty of the Black Forest and the unique landscape of the Elz River. With its many sights, the cozy inns and the varied landscape, the Elzpfad is an unforgettable experience for all nature lovers.

Attention, access to this viewpoint is via a staircase down the embankment. It's not a problem going down by bike (definitely get off and push!), but the way back up is correspondingly steep. If that's too steep for you, just leave your bike on the embankment. the way to the platform is about 30 m. This view is definitely worth it :-))
