10월 14, 2024, Swimming Spot at the Bridge in the Fango Valley
A river hike through the Fango Valley (near Galéria) is pure adventure. In places the path leads along the rocks and then through deep pools. The pools, filled with clear, refreshing fresh water, are always perfect for a swim while hiking. There are a number of great places to swim along the Fango River. A day in the Fango Valley is an ideal change from the beach, especially for families. Equipped with plenty of drinks, baguettes, sausage, fruit, etc., the day can be spent pleasantly. The river is fairly easy to access from the road everywhere and is therefore also highly recommended for families with small children.

10월 11, 2024, View of La Pietra Island
The former fishing village was expanded into a trading port with city fortifications by Pascal Paoli in 1759 during the Corsican Republic in order to have a Corsican port opposite Calvi, which was still Genoese at the time. The late founding of the town is still clearly visible due to the division of the town area into regular street squares. The official language was Italian until 1848.

10월 11, 2024, View of La Pietra Island
The region has been inhabited since the 5th to 3rd millennium BC. Around 1000 BC, the town of Agila existed there, which was dependent on the city of Tyros (Phoenicia). The Romans maintained a base called Rubico Rocega at this location during their rule over Corsica until the 4th century AD. After that, the current urban area was almost uninhabited except for a few fishermen and farmers due to its proximity to the coast and the resulting vulnerability to enemy attacks. It was not until the 16th century that residents of the nearby town of Santa-Reparata-di-Balagna opened the first shops near the coast for trade with neighboring communities by sea.

L’Île-Rousse got its name from the red porphyry rocks in front of the harbor entrance – the Île de la Pietra. This island is now connected to the island of Corsica by a causeway.

L’Île-Rousse is an attractive town with buildings full of charm, but above all because of the Pietra Islands. These colorful rocky islands seem to guide the boats to the coast. Here are all our tips on how to get to the La Pietra peninsula (now that there is a road) and climb up to the Genoese tower and the La Pietra lighthouse.

The content of the flyer goes far beyond day trips, so taking a picture is certainly not a bad idea.

9월 16, 2024, Bocca di Bonassa
The trail from the north is about 20-30% rideable with a mountain bike, the rest is pushing and carrying. The trail down towards the Fango Valley is really flowy in the upper part, then there are long, gentle climbs and frequent dismounts, as well as lots of undergrowth in the best Maccia style. The last third is flowier again. Plan enough time! The descent took about 2.5 hours.

If you're heading to the restaurant (a dead end for racing bikes), you should have cash with you, as cards are not accepted. The asphalt road there is quite bumpy - unpleasant both for the ascent and the descent.

10월 10, 2023, Bocca di Stagnu
La Bocca di Stagnu is an emblematic passage on the GR 20. This pass perched at an altitude of 2,003 meters offers spectacular viewpoints. In particular, you can see the two superb points of Bocca Culaghia and Punta Culaghia as well as the station of Asco below.

The tour is really demanding: Uphill over gravel and scree fields On the high alpine grade, sure-footedness is required, the path is sometimes difficult to see as the old GR20 markings have faded Really steep downhill! It took us almost 5 1/2 hours of walking But incredibly beautiful

In front of the Bocca di Stagnu (coming from Haut-Asco) there are 600 meters in altitude ... 1/3 of which is steep in the forest uphill (more than 30...40%!), 2/3 of the 600 meters in altitude is rock climbing. Once you have reached the first pass (Bocca di Stagnu), you can count yourself lucky and take a well-deserved break before the path crosses the slope, continues to climb in gullies to the second pass (Bocca di a Muvrella) and from there follow the 700hm descent.
