With the decline of shipping and trade in the port of Cadaqués in the first third of the 20th century, the lighthouse lost its strategic importance and fell into disrepair. In 1982, due to its dilapidated state, there were plans to demolish it and replace it with a new structure. One of the most beautiful cycling paths in this area. From the wetlands to the river to the apple orchards, crossing small bridges., this path has it all. Great quality gravel. Some parts are a little narrow so watch out for oncoming traffic.
