One of the most popular hikes in Fjord Norway - the Norwegians call the mountain “the highest sea cliff in Europe”. A breathtaking view awaits you at the summit.

Vestkapp can be easily reached by car. Here you can walk around the high plateau and enjoy the fantastic all-round view, weather permitting.

There are several small caves along the rocky coast. But be careful, the path along the water's edge shown on the map can only be walked at low tide. The path is not marked and usually not recognizable. You should already be experienced.

The Kannestein was formed by loose rock and the ebb and flow of the waves. The stone is cup-shaped and measures 4-5 meters in height. For centuries, pebbles rubbed against the rock until they were rounded. These loose stones have carved the rock deeper and deeper over time. More and more stones were added, and so gradually larger and wider hollows could form. Several depressions formed next to each other, which were ground out until the side walls disappeared and only the middle part remained. This is how the interesting shape of the Kannestein came about. Because of this process, he will one day abort Kannestein.
