From here, you have an incredible view of the glacier, and it's not always busy, so you might even enjoy the peace and quiet. We were lucky/unlucky (depending on your perspective) to witness a piece of the glacier break off and come down the mountain in an avalanche. Perfect for a glacier view without the elevation gain!

One more thing: Tolls are NOK 70 for cars and NOK 140 for RVs. At the parking lot below, there are some gravel areas suitable for overnight stays. Next to them is an outhouse. Above the parking lot is a DNT hut with toilets, showers, and water. After a hike to the glacier, an overnight stay with a view of the glacier is highly recommended!

Rocky summit where there is some shelter should the weather come in. There are numerous paths off of the top so it can be quite confusing to the find the right route down.
