Ryten is a deservedly popular objective that's suitable for avid hiking families. The views from the top down to the idyllic Kvalvika Beach are sumptuous. Take care on the path up, as the cliff edge is never far away... and it's very steep.

This Lofoten beach jewel is surrounded by rugged mountains and about two hours' walk from the nearest road. Kvalvika comprises two sandy beaches separated by a rock. Untouched and mostly deserted, Kvalvika is worth the effort of the hike. Simply a dream, almost like being in the South Seas

Uphill all the way but beautiful views. Go during june-july to witness midnight sun. Its really surreal.

Toilets cost 20 NOK and are really clean. There is a sink with free water for washing & cleaning. The visitor center will open fall 2024, but there is a small kiosk selling snacks. It’s open on Sundays.
