Whether you choose to climb from the parking lot below the castle (moderate difficulty, about 40 minutes on a well-marked path, steps, and a walkway) or follow the "Castellani's Path" from Vobbia (about two hours, including stops), the arrival near the castle is breathtaking! Because the "Gorzente Lakes Tour" would be meaningless without the lake! Jokes aside, since much of the approach trail is rather lacking in views (mostly through a wooded valley), when you finally begin to skirt the lake, the view makes all the effort worthwhile. Be careful, because following the same trail, the descent to the bridge presents some difficulties, with slippery rocks and even some short, secured sections. Hiking boots are essential, poles are useful, but not recommended in case of snow or ice!

A barren and wild environment that is worth the effort of the challenging difference in altitude that is faced immediately at the beginning of the route, then the excursion continues along the crest on panoramic ups and downs that offer views of the sea and the surrounding peaks.

Path with splendid views, rocky but not difficult, exposed to wind, easy to follow, ups and downs without excessive steepness, almost a walk. From Colle Gandolfi follow the dirt road on the left, after a few meters leave the dirt road and take the path on the left that goes up to Monte Pennello. From Monte Pennello you descend slightly towards the west, going around Monte Piazza towards the north you will see Punta Martin emerge. Once you arrive below the peak, follow one of the many paths that lead to the top in a few steps. Short climb, not too steep, very doable.

Nice observation point over the castle and one of the towers where you could once climb. Great for a souvenir photo. you must not suffer from vertigo, exposed sides and a small climb to the top must be done with care and suitable shoes.
