One of the two iconic bays of Sestri Levante (together with the Baia delle Favole), the Baia del Silenzio receives fame and, in part, its name, for having been a source of inspiration for writers, artists and scientists over the centuries. Importantly, in order to protect the delicate ecosystem of the bay, the local authorities have introduced a regime of restricting visitors during the bathing season between 08.00 and 17.00.
