Beautiful, somewhat strenuous circular hiking trail from Schlierersee to Jakoberalm, further to Franz Fischer Hütte and back via Gruberalm to Schlierersee

A cool swim on hot summer days. Better than any infinity pool.

If you hike from the Schliereralm around the Rieding reservoir, you will pass the Hubertus chapel on the south-west bank. An elaborate wooden construction was placed on a base bricked with natural stone. It is octagonal and covered with larch shingles on the ground floor. A steep, shingle-covered pyramidal roof sits on top of it, letting light into the interior via a lantern. The entrance, facing the lake, is protected by a canopy with deer antlers. The Essersee is a beautiful small mountain lake in Lungau (Salzburger Land) at an altitude of 2088 meters. It can be reached from Riedingtal. On one lap you can also hike past other mountain lakes, e.g. the Zaunersee and the Schlierersee.
