Seeing a warf in its "new construction" is something special indeed 😀 More information at: https://architektenvenus.de/projekt/neubau-der-warft-treuberg-auf-der-hallig-langeness/ https://www.manfredriedel.com/portfolio/was-von-treuberg-uebrig-blieb/ P.S.: There is currently no construction site on the warf, so we were able to get onto the warf 😉

It's very nice there 😀 There are some benches with a wonderful view. You can also get something to eat and drink and use a clean restroom 👍

Mudflat hikes from Dagebüll to Hallig Oland and back start or end here. Mudflat hikes from Hallig Langeness to Hallig Oland also start here. On sunny days, you can swim, relax, and enjoy the sunset here. A freshwater shower is available for cleaning yourself after a mudflat hike, or, of course, just to cool off.

Bettina's small ceramics workshop is currently located in the former school on the Hallig Oland, where other Oland-made goods are also offered. Take a look and be surprised. Museums on the Halligen https://halligen.de/halligstiftung/digitales-museum

Hallig Oland Halligstube Kiek In - from May to October, a full barbecue buffet is available every Saturday from 6:00 PM. Otherwise, it is open for larger groups by appointment (04667 390). Restaurant or Halligstube Kiek In Despite all the love for self-catering, many vacationers still desire to be served. The only restaurant on Oland, called Kiek In, is ideal for this. During the season, a full barbecue is offered here every Friday from 6:00 PM. However, advance reservation is always required: Tel. 04667 390. Opening hours on other days depend on various circumstances, such as the arrival of a tour boat, registered groups, etc. You should always clarify any further questions in person or by phone, as the low visitor numbers mean that it is not possible to simply open all day; no reputable company could cover these costs. Please don't expect the same services as on the mainland; the Halligstube also has to deliver all its goods by trolley. https://langeness.de/halligurlaub/gastronomie

https://www.wattlaufen.com/2018/10/16/sturmflutpfähle/ The lowest mark on the storm surge post on Hallig Oland indicates normal flooding. The lowest mark on the storm surge post on Hallig Oland indicates the water level during normal flooding. Flooding is a characteristic feature of a Hallig and occurs more frequently in autumn and winter. During strong westerly winds and spring tides, the grassland of a Hallig is flooded. This event can occur with varying frequency on a Hallig. Hallig Nordstrandischmoor experiences flooding about 30 times a year, while Hamburger Hallig experiences flooding about 60 times. The people living on the Hallig islands are protected in their houses on the mound.

https://www.nordkirche.de/adressen/institutionen/detailansicht/institution/kirchenkreis-nordfriesland Even those who aren't familiar with churches, a visit to this building is highly recommended, as it exudes a very special atmosphere and preserves many details and objects from past centuries. A leaflet with information and descriptions is available in the church for a small fee. I'll only give a brief summary here; please read the rest yourself if you're interested. The existence of a church on Oland was documented as early as 1430. It was originally made of wood and was replaced by a brick building in 1709 after it fell into disrepair. However, this church still stood on a mound that had been submerged by storm surges and therefore no longer exists today. The current Evangelical Lutheran St. Peter's Church was built in 1824 as a simple hall church. Severely damaged by a storm surge the following year, it had to be rebuilt, and subsequent storm surges also caused repeated damage. Special features of the church: Special ceiling and door paintings - Pulpit from 1620 - Altar table with candlesticks from the 15th century - Bible from 1684 in a display case - Apostle figures on the north wall from the 15th century - Large apostle figure from the 15th century on the south wall - Baptismal font with crucifix from around 1200 - Votive nave from 1733 - Upper front of the pews from the 17th century - Three epitaphs from around 1700 (memorial plaques for the deceased with their stories) - Three old gravestones - Commemorative plaque for the 100th anniversary in 1924 + further details. The Oland Lighthouse is considered the only thatched lighthouse in the world. https://www.wsa-elbe-nordsee.wsv.de/Webs/WSA/Elbe-Nordsee/DE/1_Wasserstrassen/2_BauwerkeAnlagen/Leuchttuerme/Oland/Oland_node.html https://halligen.de/halligwelt/halligen-erleben/hallig-oland With a ridge height of 7.45 meters, the Oland Lighthouse is Germany's smallest operating lighthouse. It was built in 1929 on a rocky base made of natural stone resting on a reinforced concrete ceiling structure. The rectangular brickwork is 23 centimeters thick and supports a hipped roof covered with thatch. Wooden beams covered with planks were installed as intermediate ceilings. The lighthouse was operated by a twilight switch and an astronomical clock. The lighthouse was put into operation in the same year it was built. At a height of seven meters above mean high tide, the tower houses a beacon with a belt lens, which serves as a cross-marker light for the Föhrer Ley and the Dagebüll fairway. Originally, a marine lantern with a liquid gas burner was used; since the Hallig was connected to the electricity grid in 1954, the lighthouse has been electrically operated.[3][4] Jürgen Nommensen, a native of Oland, succeeded his father and grandfather as the lighthouse keeper, and the fault reporting system is located in his house, both then and now.[5]
