Challenging ascent to 1245 m in the Dikti Mountains, completely asphalted and almost traffic-free. Fantastic views of the Lasithi plateau and the Cretan mountain landscape.

On the climb to Mesa Lasithi there is only a preliminary pass, but it is certainly attractive and the most beautiful part of the route!

A small path goes uphill past the windmills through a goat pasture, past a small chapel, to Mount Karfi.

Mostly good asphalt and good rideable with gradients but 12%. The ruins of the windmills are a worthwhile target.

From the north side a dream with partly double-digit gradients, but the south side is also quiet and definitely worth driving.

This is a very good connection road for RR from south to north. One bypasses the corrosive coastal road. Mostly good asphalt. Wonderful views. Gradient mostly under 10%.

From just after Monastiraki to just before Thripti it is really a trail, not a road. Beautiful views of mountains, sea and gorge.
