Quite isolated rock formation in the meadow, and quite a contrast to the basalt columns nearby. This combination probably lead to forming the legend.

Short walk from town or de parking lot to the presumed 'church floor' (which actually is completely natural) with a well laid out path leading there.

A large moss-covered lava area that can be explored on a small circular path from the parking lot. Really worthwhile. Please stay on the path.

The beautiful canyon can be visited on a well-developed path along the edge. The early evening hours are recommended for light.

Great basalt formations on the ground. The cobblestone look gave the place the name "church pavement".
