Visits to the tower are possible when the owners are present. Admission is free, but the owners would appreciate donations, as they have to finance all work on the tower themselves.

The short detour from the hiking trail to the summit is worth it. The view is truly magnificent. At 308 meters, the Butterberg isn't exactly a landmark, but its location does offer a beautiful panoramic view. Near the summit, there's also a bench and an information board with views and landscape details. Unfortunately, I haven't figured out what the foundation on the summit was for.

An idyllic place. Nice and quiet location in the forest. The pond is part of the ditch system of the Lower Harz, which was created during the mining period. Here you should take some time and take a longer break
