Beautiful hiking trail along the Hüttenbach stream in the Schönjungferngrund

It's a beautiful path.

Schönjungferngrund Valley depression between the Keilberg in the Czech Republic and the Fichtelberg, directly on the German-Czech border. In this valley, the snow lies many meters deep in snowy winters and often remains until the end of spring. According to legend, a beautiful castle once stood here, inhabited by even more beautiful damsels. Then robber barons came, destroyed the castle, and murdered the beautiful maidens. However, they are still alive, living inside the mountain and bleaching their linens in the spring. In the first half of the 20th century, a ski jump named after it was built in the Schönjungferngrund. The ski jumping event of the 1911 German Ski Championships was held there. Today, the Schönjungferngrund is part of the 18.67-hectare, two-part Fichtelberg and Schönjungferngrund Nature Reserve, established in 1961.

The Schwarzbachtal is a side valley of the Rote Weißeritz. The valley is partly designated as a nature reserve. Here you cycle directly along the Schwarzbach and can enjoy the wild, romantic atmosphere of the valley.
