Mono Hot Springs consists of over a dozen natural hot springs, a campground, Resort & Spa, fine dining restaurant, general store, and nearby river & lakes. The largest of the natural hot springs is called Little Eden, and it's easy to see why. This is a true little pocket of paradise. It isn't the easiest place to get to but the rewards are worth much more than the effort.

This small reservoir is accessible via the one lane Kaiser Pass Road. It also has a small first come first served campground with 11 sites. It's a good spot to use as a base camp to explore this remote region.

Vermilion Valley Resort (VVR) is nestled in the Sierra Nevada Mountains at the shore of beautiful Edison Lake. It is a classic location for PCT and JMT long distance hikers to resupply and it is known as very hiker friendly. It has been a tradition at VVR to offer the long distance PCT Thru-Hiker the first cold beverage free (cold beer) and for the PCT or JMT hikers two nights free camping in the thruhiker camping area. There is also a huge hiker box where you can find gear and food that you might need. To get here, you can ride on the ferry across Edison Lake for 20 Dollars oneway. In a dry year, the ferry might not be running. In that case, you have to hike around 6.5 miles along the shore using Bear Ridge Trail or High Sierra Station Train. https://edisonlake.com/

This small stone shelter at Muir Pass was constructed in 1930 by the Sierra Club and named after the famous John Muir. It is located at the John Muir Trail (JMT) as well as the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) and is also known as John Muir Memorial Shelter. It serves as an emergency shelter as well as a memorial. Inside you will find a single open chamber with a sixteen-foot high ceiling showing the shape of the cone-shaped roof, stone seating, and a stone fireplace with raised hearth, mantel, and external chimney.
