The Cacín River flows through the valley of the municipality of Arenas del Rey and empties into the Genil River, forming part of the Guadalquivir basin. It has a total length of approximately 50 km, of which roughly 33 km run from the Los Bermejales reservoir to its confluence. Its valley combines terraces of Quaternary sediments (conglomerates, sands, clays) and an impressive canyon carved through soft materials.

From the Tarajal Stream Ford to La Colada de la Malahá, we can walk through a narrow ravine, surrounded by its walls and ruts. This is an alternative to the usual route along the Camino de las Yeseras.

Dungeons excavated in the same natural walls of the pits, in Alhama de Granada. Located in the oldest part of the Arab quarter of the town, the dungeons were built with a pick and shovel during the Nasrid domination, in the 13th century. At first they were used to store and preserve grain, although during the war between the Muslim and Christian troops they were converted into prisons.

We start the hiking route in the town of los bermejales, we head towards the same dam before arriving we take the right towards the church and there begins the route of the tajos de los bermejales

Alhama de Granada is a city in the province of Granada located in the southwest of the province. Its name comes from the Arabic and means hot waters, a name that refers to the spa of thermal waters it has. It seems that this spa has its origins in Roman times and that its use was continued by the Arabs.
