It is located within the area of socioeconomic influence of the Sierras de Tejeda, Almijara and Alhama Natural Park. It is an impressive set of canyons and sandstone cliffs shaped by the Alhama River. They are listed as Outstanding Landscape in the General Catalog of Andalusian Historical Heritage.
