JALANCE IS a municipality in the interior of Valencia with a mountainous topography, where important orographic units converge (among others, the Boquerón Mountains, the Cortes Millstone or the Jalance Millstone). Mountains through which the valleys of the Cautabán and Júcar rivers pass. The variety of landscapes is enormous and the natural environment shelters.

A beautiful castle village on the castle route

The castle is not to be missed. Of this fortress, only the two semicircular towers in the northern part have been preserved. According to the latest research, the castle dates back to the end of the 10th century. Today, you can still see the foundations on which the walls stood. This fortress has been declared a Cultural Heritage.

At the confluence of the Júcar and Cabriel rivers lies the Cofrentes Castle (restored) with beautiful views of the Embarcaderos Lake.

The 11th century castle was built on the Cerro Agres volcano and on the banks of the Cabriel River. It can be visited by appointment at the tourist office.

A fortress of Muslim origin built in the 11th century. To get to the castle you have to go around the mountain but the climb is worth it because there are beautiful views towards Jalance. You can't see the castle inside.

Ayora is an important town in the province of Valencia and borders the province of Albacete to the southwest. Its historic center is a mixture of styles, although its 13th century castle stands out, erected after the Christian conquest.
