Summit crosses have been documented since 327 AD, and modern ones since 1799. Today, they adorn many peaks, especially in Catholic regions. Crusaders crossing the Alps to the Holy Land in the Middle Ages erected signposts for subsequent crusaders, using the Christian symbol they were particularly familiar with. However, these crosses were not yet located on summits, but rather on hills that invited people to pause and pray. Similar crosses stand on mountains today. The Ruchegg is a beautiful, quiet little pass crossing from Rothenthurm to Trachslau. As mentioned by robam above, it is easier to cycle in this direction (asphalt road and short gravel road uphill, first meadow trail and then longer, steep gravel road downhill to Trachslau).

Great views on all sides. The "ascent" of Rothenthurm is already in the sun in the morning and it can get warm. The last third through the forest is all the more pleasant. At the cross on the Morgartenberg, for reasons unknown to me, there are always many large flies. If you don't want to share your picnic with them, you'd better sit down on the grass 100 meters beforehand.

Very nice vantage point, few tourists (today, but still a bit early on March 29th with difficult conditions), I was the only one far and wide in the Morgartenberg area. Easily feasible with MTB by guessing, last km on hiking trails partly a bit steep, today with snow and snow. Exit Rtg Rothenturm without any problems on hiking trails, then small streets.

Nice ascent from direction Menzingen with diverse surroundings and tarmac lays out for you until the top.

I would drive in the direction of Rothenthurm-Ruchegg-Trachslau. Conversely, rather arduous and steep, at most possible with an e-bike.
