The hike from Santa Bárbara Castle, passing through La Ereta Park, to Alicante's historic center is a wonderful experience. This route will not only allow you to enjoy nature and the views, but also immerse you in Alicante's history and culture.

Santa Bárbara Castle is located at the top of Mount Benacantil, at an altitude of 166 meters. It houses one of the largest medieval fortresses in Spain, from which you can perfectly view the Bay of Alicante. The lower enclosure dates from the 18th century and houses the so-called Revellín del Bon Repós.

Towers over the city and is a great destination on foot (a good 160 meters high) or for a few euros by elevator or taxi. The Santa Barbara Castle dates back to the 11th century and has been expanded or rebuilt several times in the years since.
