The "Persil Woman" has no name, but for decades the "White Lady" has advertised the laundry detergent on posters, signs, and in films. The lady with the elegant hat and chic knee-length dress doesn't look her age (1922), but she has now turned 100. In Wismar, she still stands in the Lindengarten square in front of the former "Royal Swedish Provisions House," the former polyclinic, and later the employment office. Originally, the historic Persil clock was located at the lower end of Krämerstraße. Today, it stands on the street leading towards the train station. https://www.myheimat.de/wismar/c-kultur/die-persilfrau-waere-jetzt-100-geworden_a3404871

The historic ABC Street in Wismar in the center of the old town, which, like the Old Harbor, is under special protection by UNESCO after Wismar was added to the World Heritage List in 2002. It runs in a south-north direction from Altböterstraße / Bademutterstraße / Gerberstraße to the streets Krönkenhagen / Mühlenstraße / Schweinsbrücke in the direction of St. Nicholas Church and Wismar train station. The side streets and connecting roads were named as Altböterstraße since 1470 after the cobblers who were only allowed to repair old shoes (called Judenstraße around 1342), Bademutterstraße since 1356 after the Bademömen (bademomenstrate) as a name for midwives (before that: Kröpelinsche Straße), Gerberstraße after the old trade of leather workers or tanners, Krönkenhagen around 1410 Krömekenhagen, perhaps after the word Krome (= crane or house lift), Mühlenstraße mentioned since 1272 after the municipal mine mill since 1371 and Schweinsbrücke since 1400 called boven der zwinebruggen with today four "lucky" bronze pigs. The street was first mentioned around 1279 as [platea] apud fratres [minores] or street behind the Friars Minor (monastery brothers) or achter den grauen monken after the Graues Kloster behind it. After the Reformation, the city built small apartment buildings here, marked with the letters from A to M and the name ABC-Straße soon became common. Wismar became an important member of the Hanseatic League in the Middle Ages. In the late 19th century, many small houses on the street were replaced by new buildings, which also housed shops on the ground floor. The street was renovated in 2012. https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/ABC-Stra%C3%9Fe_(Wismar)

The historic "Pig Bridge" in Wismar is located near St. Nicholas Church, north of the center of the old town, which, like the Old Harbor, is under special protection by UNESCO after Wismar was added to the World Heritage List in 2002. The detailed group of four pigs on the railing posts was created in 1989 by the sculptor Christian Wetzel. They are intended to commemorate the times when pigs were driven from the meadow at the Poel Gate over this bridge into the city or to the market, from which the bridge, like the street, gets its name "Pig Bridge." The bridge was built in the 19th century and rebuilt in brick in 1994. With its four laughing bronze pigs, it is a tourist magnet, as can be seen from the worn areas of the bronze figures. https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schweinsbr%C3%BCcke_(Wismar)

The now listed, seven-storey, 22-metre-high, approximately 22 × 25-metre-large, clinker-clad neo-Gothic Thormann granary with a usable area of 4000 m² was built in the Speicherstadt in 1862. The horizontally structured cornices around the perimeter emphasize the design, as do the four gable projections on the harbor and rear side. In 1893, the grain trading company G.W. Loewe acquired it. The building was extended, the supporting structure reinforced and lifting systems installed; a loading bridge now led to the quay. It is under special protection by UNESCO after the old town and the old harbor of Wismar were added to the World Heritage List in 2002. After it had been vacant for a long time, the city of Wismar, as the new owner, had the granary extensively renovated from 2004 onwards. 17,000 bricks hand-made in Denmark replaced dilapidated stones. On the northeast and southeast façades, new openings, some of which are floor-to-ceiling, provide better lighting. However, the technical equipment, such as the conveyor systems, was retained. https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thormann-Speicher
