The artist Christian Wetzel created the detailed sculptures in 1989, which recall the times when the pigs were once driven from the Anger at Poeler Tor over this bridge, the "Pig Bridge", into the city or to the market.

The four corners of the historic bridge are almost inconspicuously decorated with small sculptures. The figures come from the sculptor Christian Wetzel and are very beautifully crafted. The pigs depicted appear to be very happy. A nice little highlight.
