The mountain tour on the Oksen is demanding and in some sections steep and rocky. There are several places where you can fill up your water bottles. At the summit you will be rewarded with an extremely impressive view.

Suddenly the sign is on the side of the road. Hardly any ascent beforehand, hardly any descent afterwards and yet this is probably the highest point of Rallarvegen.

What Uwe writes about cyclists is especially true on weekends. The Rallarvegen is a well-developed dirt road that was laid to supply the construction site when the first railway line between Oslo and Bergen was built. It's of course nice for cyclists, especially if you have time on the weekend.
