Less of a pond, more of a spring.. Still a very nice quiet place

If you turn left on the Seckbornstraße from Herberhausen in the Kerstlingerode and Göttinger Forest nature reserve, you will discover the Seckborn spring there. In the middle of the city forest is the spring system, which consists of a forest meadow, an artificial landscaped pond and the actual source.

Nice place for a rest in the existing hut or on one of the benches.

The Schillerwiesen are a well-attended excursion destination. There are benches, a playground, paths for strolling, large lawns for various leisure activities and these ponds. There is usually less activity around the upper ponds. The entire pond cascade is varied. My children used to like to let their model boats swim here. An interesting detail about the cascades: Moostuff forms next to the small waterfalls.

Since spring 2020 it has been revitalized and renatured and "flooded". Hopefully it will stay that way for a long time. In the summer of 2021 there was at least still water available.

The small Reinsbach, which flows through the Schillerwiesen, gives the place a very special charm. With a few ponds (unfortunately every now and then they are clogged with a lot of branches and leaves), their many small waterfalls and small bridges make this place something romantic for me.

Small refuge if it does rain or of course for a rest.
