A beautifully landscaped lake at Sophienhöhe. It's a great place to observe waterfowl.

This spot is called Bergmannsruh on newer maps. It's certainly a beautiful spot with a view of the water.

Not too far from the Eisvogelsee there is another lake or pond - like everything on the Sophienhöhe, artificially created - which, in the middle of the forest landscape, offers some variety both ecologically and for the hiker.

We weren't able to determine to what extent the kingfisher has actually settled here during our excursion through Sophienhöhe. But it's a nice little pond that's both beneficial to the flora and fauna of Sophienhöhe and offers hikers a bit of variety.
