The buttercup family (Ranunculaceae) usually blooms pure white in nature, but occasionally has petals with a slight pink tinge. The flowering period extends from March to May, but in mild regions, the wood anemone opens its blossoms as early as February.

The Bebensund Bridge or Seeschaarwald Bridge connects the so-called Seepark of the town of Eutin with the Seeschaarwald and separates the Fissau Bay from the Great Eutin Lake.

A special event every year on the shore of the lake is the Eutin Festival. Every summer, well-known opera singers present different operas and operettas on the lake stage.
