The Kranika moorland is located very close to the Lütjensee. It is 96 hectares in size and has been a nature reserve since 1993. Part of the area used to be covered by water, but later moors and wet meadows developed. Today, rare plants such as sundew and orchid grow here. Many animals, including frogs, grass snakes and various bird species, also call this area home. A number of beautiful hiking trails lead along the edges and information boards provide exciting insights.

On the western shore of Lake Lütjen there is only one way to get directly to the shore, namely via this narrow, somewhat hidden path that leads down to Lake Lütjensee, lined on both sides by high, evergreen hedges. There is a small wooden bench on the shore from which you can enjoy beautiful views of the Lütjensee. From here you also have a good view of the Seehof opposite and the Fischerklause in the distance on the south bank.

only a small detour leads to the moor area of Kranika. There is a sensational silence here. Unless a flock of cranes or wild geese is flying over the area. A place to breathe.

On the northern shore of Lütjensee Lake, there is this beautiful free swimming area, accessible via the "Seeredder" street. Here, you can refresh yourself in the lake, enjoy the magnificent view of the lake, or drive in two directions from here and watch the sunset in small coves or from benches by the lake.
