From the bridge you have a wonderful view over almost the entire dam. Sunrises and sunsets here are second to none... In 1973, the bridge, which was still under construction, collapsed, claiming 4 victims. There is a memorial stone on the side of the town of Quingenberg.

The Riedelmühle dam has been in front of the Zeulenroda dam for around 50 years and protects it from silting up. Since last year there has been a lot of digging here and the pre-dam has been “renovated”. The measures are scheduled to be completed in spring 2024.
